Full Service Deck Restorations

If your wood deck is developing cracks, splinters, and a rough texture - you're probably ready for a deck restoration.  Pressure treated wood decks in our weather tend to start showing their age after 10+ years. At Reliable, our deck restoration process is full-service starting with a good wash, moving to prep, and finishes with the stain or paint that best suits your deck's material, condition, and usage.

Our Restoration Process

  • 2-Step Cleaning

We start with powerwashing the wood to remove dirt, mold, and algae. Using eco-friendly and pet-safe products, we will then balance the ph level to bring back the color to old, dingy wood.

  • Sanding & Prepping For Stain

A good refinishing job starts with quality preparation. This includes sanding the floor, tightening tails and cleaning the joints.

  • Applying Stain

The final step is when we apply the stain that best suits your decks' need and current condition. We work with a variety of products to fit the situation.

Deck Repairs

One of the most common types of repairs we see is the replacement of worn-out posts. Deck posts are the vertical parts of the deck’s structure that support the entire deck and keep it up off of the ground. While some posts are set up on feet to breathe, most are set in the earth on top of the concrete below the surface. This means that after a certain period of time, the bases of these posts will rot and need replaced.

Also, our decks here in Montco are continuously exposed to the sun, pelting rain or hail, snow, and storms which can all cause damage to your beautiful deck. It's best to repair any damage to prevent injuries or bigger problems down the road.

Repair vs. Replacement

Sometimes, the cost of repairing a deck will cost nearly the same as replacing the entire deck.

Even if some parts of the deck are still structurally sound, if they are more than 10 years old, they will most likely need replacement shortly.

Of course, replacing several deck posts won’t even come close to the price of a new deck, but replacing beams and posts can become a costly endeavor that may come close to the price of a new deck.

We will be happy to do a full inspection of your deck and show you where repairs are needed. Our quote will show you the price difference between repairing your deck or replacing the deck, so you can make a more informed decision.

Top Deck Replacement

Once a pressure treated pine deck reaches 15+ years of age it starts to show is age and the deck’s surface condition many not react to normal cleaning and staining. A staining treatment, at this point, only lasts a very short period of time because the woods surface is so porous it collects environmental deposits much faster. When replacing any part of your deck's surface - we use premium grade lumber, top rated coated fasteners, and superior carpentry skills to get your deck restored and ready for another 20 years of use. During the removal of the old lumber we will inspect for any decay fungus attack to the existing framing or substructure.
